November 13th Meeting Highlights

Welcome to the second student council blog. In this blog, I will be talking about Thursday, November 13th meeting.

Towards the beginning of the meeting, one of the presidents had to begin the meeting by calling the meeting to order. During this meeting, it was my job to do it. It took a wile for people to here me, causing me to have to say it twice. Once we got organized, we stood for the Pledge of Allegiance. When everybody sat down, it was time for the quote(s) of the week. Since it was Veterans Day on Tuesday, we had some Veterans Day quotes. I have no clue how she gets so many good quotes. I think there were at least 4 of them. So far I was only able to find one the previous week.

This meeting, we didn’t have much Items/issues we needed to discuss. I think only think 1 person raised their hand. We didn’t have much time to discuss that many things either. Mrs. Mehlert came in to talk to us about bringing sugar to raise money. Our goal was to get 300 bags of 5 pound sugar. For each class, you get 10 points for a bag of sugar, 5 points for an item off of the 10 most wanted items, and if you want to, 30 points for a pair of pajamas. She also said the class with the most points gets a root beer float party.

After she left, it was time to do committees. I’m in charge of the spirit day committee. In each committee, there is an officer in charge of it. In this meeting, there was only 30 minutes left to do committees, so we didn’t have as much time to do the things that we usually do each week.
